The Care & Autonomy Living Lab (CALL), powered by WeMind Cluster, is happy to announce its most recent membership in the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL).

ENoLL is a collaborative network of living labs across Europe, dedicated to fostering innovation and societal transformation. Its primary objective is to facilitate open innovation processes and co-creation activities between citizens, businesses, academia, and public organizations.

It also provides a range of services to its members, including access to funding opportunities, training programs, and a repository of best practices in the field of living labs. The network’s mission is to create a European ecosystem of living labs that drive innovation, experimentation, and knowledge exchange to address societal challenges. ENoLL envisions a future where living labs play a central role in shaping sustainable and inclusive societies through user-centric innovation and collaboration across diverse stakeholders.

Opportunities as ENoLL members

As a research and innovation tool, CALL aims to enhance individuals’ quality of life and autonomy. By joining the ENoLL, the CALL will gain access to an extensive network of living labs across Europe, enriching our knowledge and expertise in various domains. This connection goes beyond knowledge; it will also inspire us, drawing insights and ideas from other innovative initiatives. Collaborating and exchanging ideas with other living labs will lead to the development of more effective solutions for neurosciences, mental health, and ageing interventions.

ENoLL provides a diverse array of services and resources to its members, encompassing training, funding opportunities, and access to a repository of best practices. Our membership in ENoLL will enable the CALL to access novel and innovative technologies and methodologies while also benefiting from the experiences of other living labs. Additionally, being a part of ENoLL will assist CALL in examining the implications and impacts of innovations on users and society, evaluating adoption rates and acceptance levels, and anticipating future regulatory demands, among other considerations.

Our ENoLL membership may also play an active role in promoting the dissemination of our projects’ outcomes, aiding the CALL and its representatives in reaching a broader audience with our work. This dissemination will amplify the impact of the CALL’s research and innovation endeavors, ultimately contributing to enhancing the quality of life and autonomy of the individuals we serve.

Furthermore, becoming a member of ENoLL marks the beginning of one of the CALL’s primary strategic pillars: internationalization. Our internationalization objectives extend beyond nurturing innovation within our region solely with internal expertise; they also encompass sharing knowledge, resources, and capabilities with other nations. The opportunity to form consortia under ENoLL’s umbrella not only corresponds with our goals but also elevates the quality and robustness of our living lab.

The CALL is actively involved in seeking solutions for the transitional era we are currently navigating, firmly believing that this emerging system must be collectively constructed with awareness. We are well-positioned to engage in working groups and task forces such as the “Health & Wellbeing Task Force,” which primarily focuses on topics such as the ageing society, the silver economy, a patient-centered approach, and the promotion of wellbeing in work environments, among others. Thus, being a member of ENoLL will empower the CALL to actively contribute to this transition, benefiting both ENoLL and its existing members. We can leverage our expertise in mental health, neuroscience, and ageing to drive societal transformation. Notably, these three sectors are not only expanding but also urgently require development.

What’s next? 2024 ENoLL activities

ENoLL has defined 7 strategic actions that encompass aspects such as visibility and value creation for the network, the training and growth of Living Labs, financial models, positioning and approach to different use cases through projects, conferences, collaborative proposals, research, and publications. Additionally, it strengthens the international component with networking activities and events throughout an annual calendar of proposals. The cluster team will incorporate activities promoted by the ENoLL network that best fit into the 2024 Activity Plan.

As a member of ENoLL, the WeMind ecosystem is looking forward to leveraging our expertise in ageing, neuroscience and mental health, and to contribute to the network’s initiatives, share best practices, and collaborate with fellow members across Europe. Together, we aim to drive meaningful change and foster a culture of innovation that positively impacts society. In conclusion, joining this global network reflects our deep commitment to innovation and collaboration in creating solutions that enhance the lives of individuals and communities.
