Care & Autonomy Living Lab

Care & Autonomy Living Lab is a Mental Health Cluster initiative to apply social and technological disruptive innovations to society, in a co-creative frame defined by the quadruple helix.
This 2021, we had the opportunity to present our Care & Autonomy Living Lab at the 4YFN event, sharing the same venue as the Mobile World Congress, held in Barcelona last June.
Joan Moyà-Köhler, project manager, together with Marta Sánchez-Bret, Mental Health Cluster manager, presented the starting point of this innovative project and the context in which it’s going to be implemented.

4 Great reasons to join us:
If you are a Corporation, SME or a Startup:

This space is a great opportunity for small and medium enterprises (SME) to scale innovation, to open markets and add potential new users, to test and validate products and services, promoting competitiveness and innovation within companies.
CALL will allow large corporations to develop R&D projects externally, offering a space of collaboration among experts, researchers and entrepreneurs, which lead them to future synergies and partnerships.
In addition, CALL represents a significant opportunity for startup companies, as it will allow them to test disruptive innovations directly on real life users and environments, within an ecosystem that will not only enrich the development of their ideas and improve their adaptability, but will also be a space to match partners, to develop new solutions and the hatching of new projects.
If you are a stakeholder or a user:

This is an opportunity to promote and facilitate the development of tailored tech-med services for different types of needs, ranging from mental disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, intellectual disabilities or ageing.
Being part of this project favours a more ethical development adapted to the needs of each group, while allowing users to be an essential part of the R&D development right from the design phase.
If you are an expert at a research centre:

A Living Lab is an opportunity to test and find ways to transfer knowledge based on research developed by the academy. It is also an ideal space to generate projects with organisations and companies of the sector. Moreover, being present at the CALL means being part of an active and proactive community within the fields of ageing, mental health and neurological disorders.
If you are a policymaker or part of the public administration:

This space will allow us to dig deeply into the promotion of business competitiveness, find ways to develop R&D and improve the promotion of social inclusion, while working directly with groups in vulnerable situations. This will improve their quality of life and the impact of public policies in these sectors.
